Italy’s wild landscapes preserve one of the richest and oldest collections of ancient feminine legacies in Europe. No matter where you go, you are sure to find a secluded grove, mysterious cave, or ancient temple that will enchant you.

Unfortunately, few written records exist for many of these once important and historically important sites, as women’s stories and achievements were often suppressed, downplayed or omitted from official records, leaving gaps in history.

Even today, mainstream tourist maps and guides in Italy often prioritise patriarchal ruins over ancient feminine sites, relegating them to niche or absent listings.

But just because they have not been recorded in as much detail, that doesn’t mean these sites don’t exist. In fact, in Italy, there’s an abundance of them.

This website was set up to document some of the stories, songs and sacred sites across the country, as testimony to the generations of women who have lived before us.
